  The European Commission has recently announced that the EU member states are allowed to extend provisional authorizations for two AIs until May 31st 2016, so as to assess further information and complete the examination of the dossiers provided by the applicants. The ais are syngenta’s herbicide pinoxaden and Dow AgroSciences’ fungicide meptyldinocap. This is the third time the provisional authorizations have been granted for two ais, with the last two issued in 2010 and 2012, respectively.
